I am a professional musician who is constantly on the road. I am also a shameless glutton who obsessively keeps track of favorite restaurants and bars in every city in which I work. It’s important to me that fellow artists aren’t defeated by the challenges of eating and drinking well while traveling. In a new city, how are we supposed to know the difference between a gem and a dump? What is there to do in between the busy rehearsal room and the lonely hotel room? Are there any online resources more dependable and selective than Yelp or Urbanspoon?
Troubavore seeks to answer these questions.
Troubavore provides traveling artists and performers with clear, reliable, and informed data about the best in local dining, drinking, and attractions.
Recommendations will focus on independent and locally owned restaurants, bars, markets, and other businesses.
Articles will be posted twice a month, each focusing on a particular city or region.
Guest writers will regularly contribute their own knowledge and expertise about cities with which I am less familiar.
Comments are highly encouraged. Share your favorite restaurants and bars that were left out of an article. Or recommend a city that should be written about in the future.
While this website is written with the dynamic and discerning tastes of other wandering artists in mind, Troubavore is also meant for anyone and everyone. Whether you are artistically-inclined or not, whether you are traveling to or based in one of the cities showcased on this site, I hope that you will be inspired to visit and experience the very best of wherever you find yourself.
